Things to know about cosplay contact lenses

you can see many cosplayers wear cosplay costumes but they also wear cosplay lense for the

photo-shooting Theatrical lenses like the ones mentioned in this post are thicker than

regular lenses, so can last you many years as long as you take care of them and don’t wear

them for too long at a time. Generally you want to wear them for no more than 8

hours, or until they start to feel itchy/irritated. The contact lens fluid you buy

is also as important as the contacts themselves – don’t wash your contacts in

water! I happen to use Opti-Free, though you may need to experiment with a few

different brands to find what works for you. Did your theatrical lenses dry out

because the lens solution leaked out of the case? Don’t worry – just re-fill the

case with fresh solution and your lenses will re-hydrate after soaking in solution

for a little bit.

how to distinguish leather

You may often be told by the seller that the product you tend to buy is made from

real leather but did you know that some dealers mix real leather with common

leather? so when you make your own cosplay costume making your boots or something, be

cautious.

Actually, it’s much easier to distinguish them while seeing the real product.

Genuine leather is much softer, featuring better gloss. But common leather is much

cheaper and harder. Trace after being folded won’t recover quickly. Gloss on them

is also more rigid.

kimono cloth

Kimono is also included in cosplay costumes because the cosplay culture is date from Japan.

The most frequently material on kimono is cotton, which is loved by lots of

domestic cosplayers when they make single-layer bathrobes.

I’ve already seen many cosplayers who sold their kimonos made from bed-sheeting at

rather expensive prices.Among all different kinds, bamboo joint is used in most

cases. It doesn’t crinkle easily.

What’s more, it features better texture and comes with a higher price than common

twill cotton. Some dealers describe their products as “chick cotton”, which may

refer to twill cotton or common plain cotton that’s thickened.

different kinds of yarn

Yarn is also classified into several kinds.

For example, yarn used on underskirts is organza. But actually, the name of organza

doesn’t exist at all in the field of cloth.

Cloth for underskirts cosplay costume usually refers to kachoji and glass yarn. There is not a

big difference on the price between the two.

Another one is chiffon, which also features different thickness. You may also have

ever heard of “D degree”, right? The larger the D degree is, the thicker the

chiffon is. I have only ever seen cloth featuring 30 D degrees, which has already

been extremely thinned. The most frequently used on features is 75 D degrees.

It’s rather soft and moderately thick.

a brief introduction the difference between satin and sateen

Frankly speaking, thick satin is a general term.

Cloth most frequently used includes wedding dress satin, smooth satin and tapestry

satin. In some cases, extra heavy chameleon satin is also concluded into the thick

satin area. Among all of these kinds, smooth satin is the most difficult one to be

distinguished.

The difference between satin and sateen is that most of satin materials are made

from natural stuff such as silk floss, real silk and so on. However, sateen is a

kind of synthetic fiber.

At present, lots of dealers call both extra heavy sateen and smooth satin as smooth

satin or pearly-luster. Therefore, remember to ask the dealer when you want to make

cosplay costume which kind of satin will be used when you are told with “thick satin”.

a brief introduction about fabric for cosplay

many new cosplayer choose to buy their cosplay costumes while the experienced ones

tend to make their own. To be frank, it doesn't matter you buy it or make it

yourself if you really enjoy wearing the cosplay outfit you have and cosplaying the

character you like. But, both of the ways to get your cosplay wear, it is still of

importance to know the fabric of making the costume.

unifrom cloth, which is the most frequently used and the cheapest fabric than

others. but you should know that it features plain weave. and there is kind of

cloth named Rolle woolen cloth which features twill weave also a kind of uniform

cloth. real uniform cloth is harder, thicker and more expensive than Rolle woolen

cloth.

most dealers can not tell the difference between the two. so when you come to a

store, be cautious and comfirm with the tailor whether cloth with plain or oblique

lines is used.

most important thing to do for cosplay(1)

seek credit once is needed.

on a cosplay show, you may find many fancy cosplay costumes and charming cosplay performance. so here comes the problem- the right of portrait.
you work hard to creat your work of art and piss off who steals it just for themselves. So giving credit where credit is need is one of the most important problems you need to pay attention.

for cosplayer: it is of course you made an effort for the art of work, but you should keep in mind that if without the help of photographer you can not get such decent photos you are satisfactory.so please credit the photographer who took photo for you and give him a 'thanks'.

for photogragher: It is a touchy topic when cosplaying. but i think even the photographer makes the photos but the joint effort help him a lot. the audince provide a good environment, the cosplay try their best to pose perfectly as you request. at the same times, if you want to get recognition from others, you must credit otheres the right to share the photo in community. Also before photo taking, come to the cosplayer you are interested in and ask for permission to take photo.

I think only everybody remember what other have done to you, can you do properly respond to other's request. Complying to the rules i mentioned above, i think cosplayers and photographers and ordinary people can make friends with each other.
